The short version
You can return any order within 30 days of delivery. You do not need to give us a reason. We pay for the return shipping, and we refund you within 7 days of the shoes reaching us.
You are welcome to try the shoes on indoors, exactly as you would in a shop. If they have been worn outdoors, we may reduce your refund to reflect the loss in value — see section 3.
This page also explains two rights the law gives you, which nothing on this website can take away: your 14-day right to cancel (section 1) and your 2-year guarantee if something is faulty (section 6).
1. Your legal right to cancel
Because you are buying online, the Consumer Rights Law 133(I)/2013 gives you 14 days from the day you receive your order to cancel it without giving any reason. If your order arrives in several parcels, the 14 days start when the last parcel arrives.
To cancel, tell us clearly that you want to cancel — through the returns section of your account, by email to info@schoolsteps.shop, or using the form in section 8. Any clear statement is enough. You do not need our permission or a reference number first.
We review return requests so we can activate the free carrier arrangement. That review is not approval of your statutory withdrawal notice: your clear statement is effective when we receive it. We only decline carrier instructions for an objective eligibility reason, and we explain that reason to you in writing.
This right applies to sale items and discounted items in exactly the same way as to full-price items.
2. Our 30-day return promise
On top of the 14 days above, we accept returns for any reason up to 30 days from delivery, on the same terms: free return shipping, full refund.
We offer this because children's feet are hard to judge from a screen, and because a shoe that does not fit is no use to anyone. The extra days are our own commercial promise, not a legal requirement, and we apply the same conditions throughout the 30 days.
3. What condition the shoes need to be in
Please return the shoes:
- Unworn outdoors — trying them on indoors is fine and expected
- In their original box, with the box protected by an outer bag or wrapping
- With any tags still attached
If the shoes come back showing use beyond what is needed to check their fit, look and function — scuffed or dirty soles, creasing across the toe, wear to the lining — we may reduce your refund by the amount of value they have lost. We will always tell you the amount and the reason before we make any deduction, and you can ask us to send the shoes back to you instead.
A missing box or missing tags does not cancel your right to a refund. It may reduce the refund if it lowers the value of what you send back.
4. What we cannot take back
Shoes made or personalised to your specification — for example a custom size, colour or name that we produced only for you. Once we have started making them, they cannot be cancelled or returned unless they are faulty.
That is the only exception. Everything else in our range can be returned under sections 1 and 2.
5. How to return something
- Go to My Account → My Orders → Order details → Request a return. If you checked out as a guest, email us at info@schoolsteps.shop with your order number.
- Tell us which items you are sending back. A reason is optional and never required.
- We acknowledge the request immediately and review it within 1 business day. Do not resend the product yet; wait for the approval email.
- After approval, pack the shoes in their original box, protect that box with an outer bag or shipping box, and remove old courier labels.
- Choose a location from the GAP Akis Express store finder and show the approval email. Give the recipient as Kypos Ltd, phone +357 97 93 98 60, payment as charge the receiver / SchoolSteps account, and reference SchoolSteps return + your return number.
- No label needs to be printed and you should pay nothing. Keep the Akis receipt and consignment number until the refund is complete.
The statutory dispatch period is 14 days after you tell us you are cancelling. For our merchant-paid GAP Akis Express arrangement, we give you 3 days from approval so our review does not reduce your practical drop-off time. If the carrier cannot find the account or asks you to pay, do not hand over the parcel; contact us first.
Carrier procedures can change. Before drop-off, check our current product return guide and your approval email. If they differ, contact us before handing over the parcel.
You are free to use your own courier instead, at any point in the 14 days. Our returns address is SchoolSteps Returns, Kypos Ltd, Voreiou Ipeirou 2, Oasis Park, Flat/Office Q2, 8035 Paphos, Cyprus. We can only reimburse the cost of standard return delivery, so telling us first usually saves you money. Please still start the return in your account, so we can match the parcel to your order.
6. If something is faulty — your 2-year guarantee
Separately from the returns above, the Sale of Goods Law 154(I)/2021 makes us responsible for 2 years from delivery if the shoes do not match what was described, or are not of the quality you can reasonably expect. This costs you nothing and is not a warranty we grant — it is the law, and it sits alongside the 30-day return promise rather than replacing it.
- In the first 30 days after delivery, if the shoes are faulty you can reject them outright for a full refund, or ask for an immediate replacement. You do not have to accept a repair first.
- After that, and up to 2 years, you can ask us to repair or replace them. We will complete this within 25 days of you telling us. If we cannot, or the fault comes back, you can ask for a price reduction or a refund.
- In the first year, we have to prove the fault was not there at delivery. You do not have to prove that it was.
Please tell us within 2 months of noticing a fault. Email info@schoolsteps.shop with your order number and a photo if you can — a photo usually saves a trip. We pay the return postage for faulty shoes.
Normal wear and tear from use is not a fault. Nor is damage from an accident or from misuse.
7. Refunds
We refund to the payment method you used. We do this within 7 days of receiving the shoes back, or of you showing us proof that you have sent them, whichever happens first.
The refund is the full price you paid for the returned items, plus the cost of the least expensive standard delivery we offer. Collection anywhere in Cyprus is free, so there is no delivery amount to add to the refund. The €10.00 home-delivery charge is the extra cost of an alternative delivery type and is not refunded. If the shoes were faulty, we refund that charge too — see section 6. Your bank may take a few days more to show the money in your account.
If your order included a free promotional item that depended on the items you are returning, please send the promotional item back as well, or we will deduct its value from the refund.
8. Cancellation form
You do not have to use this form — any clear statement will do — but you are welcome to copy it and send it to info@schoolsteps.shop, or post it to Voreiou Ipeirou 2, Oasis Park, Flat/Office Q2, 8035 Paphos, Cyprus.
To Kypos Ltd (SchoolSteps), Voreiou Ipeirou 2, Oasis Park, Flat/Office Q2, 8035 Paphos, Cyprus, info@schoolsteps.shop:
I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract of sale of the following goods: ______________
Ordered on / received on: ______________
Name of consumer: ______________
Address of consumer: ______________
Signature of consumer (only if this form is sent on paper): ______________
Date: ______________
9. If we get it wrong
If we sent the wrong item, or your order arrived damaged or incomplete, tell us and we will put it right at our cost — a replacement or a full refund, whichever you prefer. Nothing in this section limits sections 1 or 6.
10. Questions and complaints
Talk to us first — most things are quicker to fix directly:
- Email: info@schoolsteps.shop
- Phone: +357 97 93 98 60
- Hours: Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm (Cyprus Time (UTC+2))
- Address: Voreiou Ipeirou 2, Oasis Park, Flat/Office Q2, 8035 Paphos, Cyprus
If we cannot resolve it between us, you can contact the Consumer Protection Service of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry at www.consumer.gov.cy. You can also take the matter to court — going to the Consumer Protection Service first does not affect that right.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this page. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it, and we keep a copy with your order confirmation. Changes never reduce the rights described in sections 1 and 6, because those come from the law rather than from us.
